Resco Instruments founder R.E. Smith is a SEAL instructor. The development of the Patriot, his first model, took in account the input of a panel of members of the U.S police and military forces.
Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13 mm in thickness, Resco’s very first tool-watch collection was designed for tactical use and has already been supplied to U.S. Navy SEALs. Available in black, maroon or grey, the dial features super-luminous indexes coated with Lum Tec MDV Lumination, an aluminate strontium compound that is claimed to be brighter and glow longer than the industry standard Super-Luminova.
The Patriot is available in two case colours: brushed stainless steel or PVD-coated stainless steel. Along with the buckle, the case is securely held in place with screws on a strap either available as: nylon black, olive or brown; vintage-looking leather or crocodile print.
Currently available for pre-order at USD 1,225.00, the Patriot uses familiar visual cues from historical military and diving watches, but Resco Instruments manages to come up with an original design that looks the part.
