Based in Germany, Grəve Watch Design plans to release small series of watches made with components from the city of Pforzheim. The founders put a great enphasis on the traceability of all their components and their Web site even features a Google map and a list of the various suppliers.
For example, cases are produced by Fricker, dials by Cador, straps by Eulit, hands by Estima and assembly is carried out by Ermano. I’ve never seen a brand being quite so transparent about their partners, which by the way count amongst the best in the industry.
Their first model, No. 1, has been limited to 10 pieces costing EUR 649 each. Editor’s comment: I am not sure if they produced only 10 watches or if the watches are sold in batches of 10.
Measurement were set at 35 mm of diameter for a height of 9 mm, to keep the watch size unisex. The dial opening is 26 mm and the case lungs fit 18 mm straps. The movement is an ETA 2824-2.
