BaselWorld 2012: Serious Diver’s Chronograph from Certina

Last year, Certina regaled us with an ISO 6425-certified three-hands Professional Diver’s watch. This year, the brand decided to adapt the case construction to accomodate a variant of the ubiquitous 7750 workhorse.

The new DS action diver measures 45.2 mm of diameter and complies with ISO 6425. This means that every single watch goes through stringent testing before being approved for release.

Inside is an ETA 7753, which is the bicompax version of the 7750 chronograph: the 12 hour subdial at 6 o’clock has been left out and the 30 minutes that is normally located at 12 o’clock gets an additional gear train to show up at 3 o’clock.

The DS Action Diver is certified to 20 bar, which is more than sufficient for real-world Scuba diving. Pricing will be positioned between CHF 2000 and CHF 3000.
